It started like any other day.
The sun was shining in the sky overhead. The twittering sounds of birdsong were filtering into my quarters. I was napping.
Suddenly, through a haze of sleepiness, I felt something... amiss.
I found myself paralyzed, as some unseen force carried me higher and higher into the air, drawing me into a strange hovering object not of this world.
There was a sensation of time passing, of speed and acceleration without any apparent motion. Who knows how long I lay there in the darkness, dazed and frightened?
Gradually, I became aware of a light. It grew brighter and brighter.... When I opened my eyes, I found myself on a flat table, with a dreadful being staring at me through huge dark eyes. Large pink restraints suddenly snaked around my limbs, rendering me immobile and helpless before this strange creature.
I soon found myself subjected to a series of medical procedures too hideous to relate.
I trembled, feeling my mind teeter on the brink of insanity. Who was this being? Why had I been brought here? What nefarious purpose did these experiments serve? When, if ever, would I be returned to my home?
Then, as suddenly as it began, it was all over.
I found myself back in my quarters, as if nothing had happened.
... I have never been a believer in alien abductions and other paranormal phenomena. But in the face of all this mounting evidence, my faith in science and reason is beginning to crumble.
I am afraid.

Perhaps... perhaps...
My chief warden kept marvelling at how I had escaped the clutches of the VETERINARIAN at so little cost.
I must remain watchful...
